New for 2014 the Smooth Fitness CE3.6 has been updated and upgraded.
This is a quality mid range machine that offers a good sized rear drive, rare at this price point of less than $1200.
The new home use elliptical is packed with some great features, including Heart Rate controls, Ipod dock and a Fan.
Great for shorter (under 5′ 10″) users, the 18″ stride is a little on the small side, however the machine will deliver a smooth and comfortable ride.
The CE 3.6 packs a lifetime warranty on the drive system and 5 years on all other components.

Review:
A high quality machine, equipped with all you need for a great workout. The main feature over the smooth has over the competition is the pivoting foot plates. These allow your feet to adopt the perfect position for the workout during the stride.
The main competition for this machine comes from the Sole E35. While both machines are about the same price – $1200, the Sole comes with a longer, and adjustable stride. For taller users this might be critical. The Smooth 3.6CE stride length is just 18″, fine for users under 5’10” taller users might prefer to go for the 20-22″ adjustable stride of the Sole.

The $1200 price point is highly competitive. Our pick is the Sole E35. While the smooth machine is undoubtedly good, the limited stride length lets it down.
