If you are looking for an economy treadmill then Weslo are a great choice. Buyers like them for their no frills approach, with models at under $200 they are a great budget choice.
There are three treadmills in the Weslo range all under $350:
- Weslo Cadence R 5.2 Treadmill
- Weslo Cadence G 5.9 Treadmill
- Weslo CardioStride 3.0
The good bits:
Price is excelent, with a $149.99 model the CardioStride 3.0.
Compact: All Weslo treadmills are compact and easy to transport.
The Cons:
They are cheap and cheerful. At this price don’t expect much of a Warranty, 90 days is all you get.
The motors are a little weak, 2.25hp is not really sufficient to maintain 12mph so really these are just Walking / Light Jogging machines.
Running Platform is small, 16″ wide is again not sufficient for running. Carefully placed feet are in order to stay on track.
Incline: This is manual. If you want the sensation of running up a hill then you will have to manually change the position.
Summary
For the money they are adequate. However they are not built to last, as demonstrated by the poor warrenty.
If you really need an inexpensive machine then they are an option, but if I had a budget of $400 then I would be looking to pick up a second hand line on Craigslist or ebay.
