The Livestrong Fitness LS15.0E Elliptical Trainer Breaths New Life into Cardio Workouts

As you get older, it can be harder and harder to find a good workout routine. This is unfortunate as few people need to work out as much as those who are aging. Aging puts our bodies through enough without also losing the benefits that come from a regular fitness regimen. But too often it feels like a workout actually took more from my body than it provided. Fortunately, for those of us who are a long way from the intensity of your high school weight room, options like the Livestrong Fitness LS15.0E Elliptical Trainer exist. It’s a machine that’s great for young and old at all levels of fitness and ensures the user a great workout that won’t cost them down the line.

The Importance of Cardio

Cardio has long been a component of any good fitness regimen. It’s a good workout for the heart, the brain, the circulatory system, the cardiovascular system, joints, muscles and just about everything else. Given some of those targeted areas (i.e. the heart and circulatory system), it’s arguable that cardio should always be part of a workout routine, not just as we get older.

The problem with doing a lot of cardio is it can have adverse effects or aggravate current issues. Your joints, especially your knees, can suffer from the constant pounding they take as your feet make contact with the ground over and over. Your spine, too, can become aggravated from the constant jostling. Many people injure a hip from the start-and-stop routine of a foot coming off the ground, slamming back into it and firing back off again. These don’t result in minor pains either; cardio can cause the kinds of injuries that would have made it safer to stay on the couch.

Challenge Your Heart instead of Your Joints

That’s why I like the Livestrong Fitness Trainer. I can get the cardio workout I know my body needs without having to trade my joints and spine in to get it. This elliptical trainer takes out the repetitive impact of constantly running on the ground. In fact, with this machine, my feet never even leave the ground. Instead, my feet, legs and hips simply follow one continuous and smooth motion.

Another advantage the LS15.0E- has over a treadmill is that it allows me to run backwards too. Doing so is an easy way for me to target my calves and hamstrings, the latter of which needs to stay strong to keep my back and posture in line.

Lastly, of course, the Livestrong Fitness LS15.0E allows me to get my cardio done in the comfort of my own home. This was great early on when I didn’t necessarily want my neighbors to see my huffing and puffing and it’s been great since as I never miss a workout because the weather is bad.

It can handle up to 325 pounds of weight on it, so people who haven’t been running for a while don’t have to worry. In fact, if you’ve gained weight and are looking to cardio for help losing some of it, this elliptical is a great first step as it will provide the cushion your joints need while supporting the excess weight.

Fitness Features

Although it will feel like you are in the middle of the smoothest run of your life, the 7.5-inch backlit LCD display in the center console will remind you you’re actually taking advantage of cutting edge technology. When running on flatland no longer cuts it, you can up the elevation from 0-to-100%, taking advantage of twenty levels of resistance. The oversized pedals come with rubberized grip so you can match your workouts intensity without fear of falling flat. This trainer itself comes preloaded with eight different fitness programs that range from weight loss and muscle toning to strength builder and climbing.
